“In Făgăraș, around Bâlea, I truly felt the mountain: wind, changing light, and endless silence. A tour that stays with you.”

Ghe. Dembrovschi – Oradea

“At Bâlea I found myself between clouds and sunlight, with heavy steps and views that took my breath away. The kind of tour you never forget.”

Ana Radu – Sibiu

Tour Description:

The Făgăraș Mountains can reveal, within a single day, rapid changes in weather and light: sunshine, rain, or even snow — sometimes all at once. Beyond this unpredictability lies the spectacle of massive ridgelines and glacial cirques, with the Bâlea Lake area at the center of a truly spectacular route.

Ascending toward the ridge‍ ‍The route begins on a quieter northern valley, where the mountain gradually unfolds without haste. As we gain altitude, the landscape opens toward:

  • rocky slopes and alpine cliffs

  • transition zones between alpine meadows and

  • sharp ridges the first views toward the main ridge

This is a stage of the day where photography follows the gradual transformation of altitude and light.

The main ridge and Vânătoarea lui Buteanu ‍ ‍Once on the main ridge line, we continue toward Vânătoarea lui Buteanu (2508 m), one of the most alpine peaks in the Făgăraș range. Main photographic subjects include:

  • ridgeline compositions and aerial perspectives

  • contrast between light and

  • terrain wide compositions with strong visual impact

This is one of the moments when the mountain becomes most expressive.

Descending toward Capra Lake‍ ‍From the summit we descend toward Capra Lake, along a route that completely changes both rhythm and perspective. Photographic subjects encountered along the way include alpine flora (depending on the season):

  • Capra Lake and its alpine reflections

  • waterfalls and streams from the upper valley the

  • sculpted shapes of glacial cirques

  • seasonal alpine flora changing throughout the year

As we descend, the light constantly shifts, offering entirely different frames compared to the ascent.

The southern valleys‍ ‍The route continues through the southern valleys, where the landscape gradually opens toward the Transfăgărășan Road. This is the part of the day when:

  • the mountain visually “unfolds”

  • contrasts become softer

  • photography becomes more contemplative

  • the evening light becomes tangible

About the experience ‍ ‍Between June and October, the landscape constantly changes its tones, from the intense greens of summer to the clean, colder shades of alpine autumn.
