Frequently Asked Questions

Can I join if I’m a beginner?

Yes. You don’t need to be a professional photographer or have years of experience. What matters is curiosity, patience, and the desire to see the world differently.

Many participants join precisely because they want to learn photography through a real travel experience, not through abstract tutorials.

What camera do I need?

You don’t need the most expensive gear. A well-used entry-level camera is worth far more than an impressive setup used only in auto mode.

If you’re unsure what to bring, we’ll talk before departure and I’ll tell you exactly what’s worth taking with you — and what can stay at home.

Can I join if I shoot with a phone?

For certain tours, yes. Especially where the focus is on composition, light, and storytelling.

Sometimes a strong photograph depends less on technology and more on the way you see.

What does a typical day on a photo tour look like?

Very often, it starts early. Good light doesn’t negotiate with anyone.

We photograph at sunrise, take a break during the harsh midday hours, then head out again toward evening. Sometimes that means remote villages, other times crowded markets, long roads, or fleeting moments that exist for only a few seconds.

The schedule is built around light and photographic experience — not around checking tourist attractions off a list.

Is there a lot of walking?

It depends on the tour. Some are relaxed, others involve long days and more demanding terrain.

You don’t need to be an athlete, but it helps if you enjoy exploring and have the energy for full days on the move.

Do I need to know how to shoot in manual mode?

Not necessarily. If you want to learn, I’ll help you in real situations, directly in the field.

Many participants discover for the first time during a tour how to control light, exposure, and composition — without stress and without complicated theory.

What will I learn during a photo tour?

It depends on the destination, but in general we work a lot on:

  • natural light

  • composition

  • street photography

  • landscape photography

  • visual storytelling

  • observing and anticipating moments

  • photographing people in an authentic way

It’s not a rigid course. It’s more a process of learning through experience.

Do you offer feedback on photos?

Yes. And this is often one of the most valuable parts of a tour.

We discuss images directly in the field, analyze light, composition, timing, and try to understand not only what works — but why it works.

Are there editing sessions as well?

On certain tours, yes. But in general, we focus on the opportunities each destination offers us.

When we do editing sessions, we usually focus on image selection and editing in the evenings, while other times we discuss workflow, storytelling, and how to build a coherent body of work.

Can I join alone?

Yes. Many participants come on their own.

After a few days of travel and photography, the group naturally becomes a small community of people who see the world in a similar way.

What kind of people join these tours?

Very different people, but all sharing the same curiosity for photography, culture, and authentic experiences.

Some are experienced photographers, others are just beginning. Some are searching for spectacular images, while others simply want a different kind of travel experience.

Are the groups large?

No. Groups are intentionally kept small so the experience remains personal and there’s real time for every participant.

How is a photo tour different from a regular trip?

The rhythm is completely different.

We don’t rush from one attraction to another and we don’t try to “see everything.” Sometimes we spend two hours in a single place just waiting for light or for a moment that may appear.

A photo tour means more patience, more observation, and a deeper connection with a place.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Very often, that’s when memorable images appear.

Fog, rain, storms, or difficult light can completely transform a photograph. We adapt the schedule and work with the conditions we have. Great photography doesn’t happen only under blue skies.

I’m afraid I’m not good enough.

Almost everyone feels this way before their first tour.

You don’t need to prove anything to anyone. It’s not a competition and there’s no pressure to create perfect images.

What matters is being present, curious, and willing to experiment.

What if I’m the least experienced person in the group?

It doesn’t matter. Very often, beginners evolve the most during a tour because they photograph without rigidity and discover things with genuine enthusiasm.

I’m not very social. Will it feel awkward?

Not at all. Every group includes very different personalities, and nobody is expected to be “extremely social.” Photography naturally comes with its own rhythm and moments of silence.

Can I bring my partner if they don’t photograph?

Most of the time, yes.

It’s important to understand, however, that the schedule is built around photography: sunrises, good light, waiting, moving around, and spending long hours in the field.

Is accommodation included?

Each tour has different conditions, and all details are clearly explained on the dedicated page for that specific experience.

Is transportation included?

Usually, international flights are not included.

Participants book their own tickets, but they receive clear recommendations regarding the best options.

Will you help with logistics?

Yes. You’ll receive information about flights, luggage, money, insurance, equipment, and everything that should be prepared before departure.

Can I share a room with another participant?

Yes, if you want to and if availability allows it.

How do I reserve a spot?

Through the contact form.

After that, we’ll discuss all the important details before confirmation.

Is my place automatically reserved?

No. Your spot is confirmed after the deposit payment is received.

Can I pay in installments?

For certain tours, yes.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Conditions vary depending on the tour and the moment of cancellation, but everything is explained transparently before confirmation and on the Terms & Conditions page.

Do you organize private tours as well?

Yes. During certain periods, private or customized experiences can be arranged.

How do I find out about new tours?

Subscribe to the newsletter and you’ll regularly receive updates about new tours and other news.

The first announcements about new tours, destinations, and available dates are also posted on the website and social media channels.

What does a PhotoTOUR really mean?

It means reaching places that cannot be discovered in a hurry.

Learning how to observe light. Learning patience. Seeing people, not just destinations.

And returning home not only with better photographs, but with an experience that stays with you long after the journey ends.
