Tour Description:
A photo tour dedicated to discovering southeastern Transylvania, where cultural heritage and rural landscape intertwine into a visually rich and highly photogenic territory.
We begin in Brașov, one of the best-preserved historical cities in the region, founded by Saxon settlers in the 12th century. Its medieval architecture, perfectly integrated into the urban landscape, offers the first photographic opportunities: volumes, symmetries, and textured details captured in the soft light of early morning and sunset.
On the second day we move into the rural landscape, where the rhythm becomes slower and more intimate. We visit a 19th-century water mill still in operation, as well as the village of Viscri, known for its fortified church and authentic atmosphere.
We continue with scenes of local life — the blacksmith’s workshop, gestures, tools, and textures that define the relationship between people and the built environment.
In Sighișoara, the medieval citadel becomes an ideal setting for urban photography: narrow streets, fragmented light, and strong architectural perspectives.
The third day brings a carefully selected diversity of subjects: Biertan, Brateiu, and Alma Vii.
We work on the interaction between subject and context — from wide establishing frames to environmental portraits, with attention to light, expression, and background. These places naturally open discussions about visual storytelling, ethics, and approaching the human subject in photography.
The final day begins early with sunrise in Biertan, chosen for its mist, low-angle light, and atmosphere. We continue toward Făgăraș Fortress, focusing on massive architectural forms and reflections, before crossing the Perșani Mountains for the last landscape frames in the warm evening light.
This PhotoTOUR is designed as a complete photographic exercise: landscape, architecture, documentary, and portrait photography. The emphasis remains consistently on light, planning, and image construction, within a rhythm adapted to observation and real field photography.
Photo tour operated as a private experience by PhotoTOUR.
